L'Arpillon

01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Set against the shimmering backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea, L'Arpillon in Roquebrune-sur-Argens is a delightful blend of restaurant, bar, and café that offers much more than just a meal—it delivers an experience. This charming spot offers guests sweeping views of the beach, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for everything from a relaxed lunch to a vibrant cocktail hour.

The cuisine at L'Arpillon is intriguing in its simplicity and freshness. Customers have raved about the large, super fresh salads bursting with crisp greens and vibrant vegetables, as well as the daily specials like the perfectly seared tuna steak accompanied by seasonal vegetables and fresh salad. For a lighter bite, their tapas bar on the beach serves up casual yet flavorsome options, while the upstairs restaurant steps it up with "proper" meals that satisfy more sophisticated palates. Even the more familiar comfort dishes, such as the American sandwich and classic fish & chips, come with a freshness and care that elevates them beyond expectations.

Dining here is a sensory delight—the briny sea air mixes with the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen. As the sun dips toward the horizon, the ambiance takes on a magical quality, making L'Arpillon a perfect spot for sundowners and sunset watchers alike. The lively atmosphere, enriched by live music performances in July and August, invites diners to relax and enjoy the moment, though the buzziness during cocktail hour means it can get a little loud—a sign of its popularity and vibrant social scene.

The service enhances the overall experience remarkably. Even though language barriers exist, the staff’s warmth, attentiveness, and genuine smiles bridge any communication gap effortlessly, creating a welcoming environment for international visitors. Pricing here is fair, making it accessible for both casual visits and special occasions. Just note that parking is not available, encouraging guests to arrive mindful of this small detail.

L'Arpillon’s distinct combination of fantastic coastal views, delectable fresh seafood, and a lively bar scene makes it a must-visit for those exploring the south of France. Whether you're pausing on your way to Grasse, seeking a relaxing beachside meal, or looking to unwind with a sunset cocktail, this restaurant-bar-café excels at leaving visitors with memorable moments and a true taste of the Riviera lifestyle.

The three of us popped in here for lunch whilst on our way to Grasse. Fabulous. Lovely views over the water and two huge super fresh salads and one dish of the day - tuna steak with vegetables and salad. Service was super smiley and friendly.

A fun experience. Lively atmosphere. One of the few restaurants open on Monday which is why we went there. We are happy we did. The food was delicious and the desserts sublime.

Amazing place by the sea. Perfect for sundowner and sunset. Decent food prices. Not a fancy restaurant. Bar with tapas on the beach and restaurant with "proper" food upstairs. Great view. Live music every evening in Jully-August from 22.00. Minimum spend 20 euro per person. No parking.

4.5* Good food and drinks, even though a bit pricy. The Popeye cocktail was amazing, with enough alcohol and not too much ice.

Very nice vibe at very reasonable prices. View over the beach and sunset is lovely, while eating tiny fried fishes with a Greek salad. The food was all nice enough (but nothing to write home about), but the atmosphere and prices made up for it. We went on a second iteration there, where we sat at the beach at 8:50pm, just before kitchen closure time. The service there was really unfriendly; the guy promised us to serve food still, but made us wait for 11 minutes (after I gave many signs to him to remind him to pick our order on time) until it was 9:01, and informed us that they won't be able to serve us food anymore. Smelling that he was simply having bad intentions, we went upstairs to the proper restaurant, and ordered there, where they didn't tell us the kitchen was closed, and happily served us. So, the restaurant is nice, but there's a rotten apple down there on the beach .
